‘After a preliminary two-year process in which we conceived, designed and developed the concept, the start of construction early this year was already a highlight. However, now that construction is completed and the ship has been fully tested, the absolute highlight will take place in January 2023; her world premiere at Boot Düsseldorf,’ says Bastiaan Jousma, owner of Super Lauwersmeer alongside his brother Louis.

Firsts

The introduction of the SLX54 sees Super Lauwersmeer on the eve of the launch of its most innovative yacht to date. The 17-metre SLX54 is, therefore, full of firsts.

Unique underwater hull

One of these firsts is the innovative underwater hull that is somewhere between a water displacement yacht and a planing yacht. Built from steel, the SLX54 still manages a top speed of 28 km/h with 2 x 440 hp. No need for high speed? The hull is also very economically attractive, and with 2 x 175 hp, the SLX54 turns into an extremely cost-effective ship.

Crossover concept

Besides the underwater hull, the entire concept of the SLX54 is also among the novelties. The X in the name refers to "crossover", or a crossing of concepts. The SLX54 combines the advantages of an aft cabin, open cockpit and flybridge in one yacht. Steering can be done both inside and outside the yacht. Outdoor seating is available at the front, on top and at the back of the boat. The BeachLounge and the WheelHouse are great places to spend time indoors. Those staying on the ship have continuous opportunities to pick a favourite seating spot and enjoy the company on board or the moored location to the fullest.

Boot Düsseldorf 2023

At Boot Düsseldorf, the SLX54 will radiate in Hall 1 on stand B04. The boat show will be held from 21 - 29 January 2023. At the start of the show, the award for "Powerboat of the Year 2023" will be presented. We will then know if the innovative nature of the SLX54 will be honoured with an award by the international jury.
