Skipper magazine on the Discovery 45 OC: “Eye catcher among steel yachts”
The German water sports writer Peter Marienfeld is deeply impressed by the Discovery 45 OC. When stepping ashore after a test drive, he calls it ‘The greatest yacht in its class.’ The test published in the German Skipper magazine underscores this positive
Marienfeld opens his story with certainty and aplomb: "Seen from any perspective, the Super Lauwersmeer Discovery 45 OC is a magnificent yacht". Later in his story, the journalist praises the collaboration between shipyard owner Louis Jousma and renowned designer Arnold de Ruyter: "De Ruyter and Jousma have designed a steel yacht that is nothing less than a remarkable piece of art", writes the German journalist.
"A true premium product"
The article mentions the Discovery 45 OC's design many times more, but Marienfeld is impressed by plenty of other aspects as well. He describes the open cockpit yacht as a 'true premium product', with a lot of praise reserved for the 'ergonomic layout, the rich furnishings and the incredible freedom of movement on board'. Nor do the panoramic views from the salon or the option to step ashore through a door in both gangways go unmentioned.
"Very stable"
The Skipper test writer is no less enthusiastic about the sailing characteristics: "Whatever manoeuvre the Super Lauwersmeer makes, the yacht stays very stable. The ship is highly suitable for relaxed travels, with a silent engine that supplies plenty of power."
