In the past year, we have worked hard at the shipyard to develop a brand new top model. The 16.5-metre yacht is the largest Super Lauwersmeer in more than 50 years of our shipyard's existence. As befits a top model, ‘Project 54’ is brimming with innovation, including a revolutionary new development.
Step aboard the Discovery 47 AC for a one week pilot voyage
In an industry first, the Terherne-based yacht charter company, De Schiffart Yachtcharter adds the Discovery 47 AC ‘Sierra Lima’ to its ‘luxury motorboats’ segment. After earlier commissioning two Discovery 45 AC‘s, the all-new Discovery 47 AC is the latest model to join their charter fleet.
No fairs, but this is how we present our models to you
Unfortunately, Boot Düsseldorf will not take place this year. And whether Motorboot Sneek will take place in April is also uncertain due to the recent developments. It’s a shame. We would have loved to welcome you aboard the Discovery 47 AC and Discovery 47 OC at these fairs.

We are proud to announce that the Super Lauwersmeer Discovery 47 OC has been nominated for the Best of Boats Award 2020. Out of the hundreds of boats that the international jury tests each year, the Discovery 47 OC made it to the finals of the awards, making Super Lauwersmeer the only Dutch finalist.

With the Discovery 47 OC 'Pursuit of Happiness' - which Super Lauwersmeer delivered just before the start of summer - we are showcasing how we make customers' dreams come true. The Discovery 47 OC, a ship that incorporates more than 50 years of yacht building experience, made the dreams of the Van der Veen family a reality. Moreover, it exhibits numerous innovations and firsts.
Third Discovery 47 OC in the water
The third Discovery 47 OC is another completely personalised build. The chalk-white finish combined with the matte black exterior details and stripes, give the open-cockpit yacht a unique and contemporary look.
Discovery series: Even more sailing comfort thanks to innovative Hull Vane®
Super Lauwersmeer strengthens its position as an innovative shipyard. The Frisian yacht builder premieres the installation of the very first semi-custom Hull Vane® on a new steel-constructed yacht under 15 meters. The benefits, in terms of sailing comfort, speed and efficiency, are immense.
